I'm obsessed with urban ritual!!! This boba shop offers a wide variety of drinks all with top tier ingredients. You can tell they use legit tea and make toppings in house. I really like this location because every time I have come they make the drinks perfect! My go to order is the sweater weather which is a hojicha milk tea with the osmanthus tea jelly. You are able to customize the sugar, ice level and they have multiple milk options. Their drinks have a strong tea taste that will punch you in the face. I really like the osmanthus tea jelly because it has flavor. Other places usually their tea jelly is more of a textural thing. I do think the tea jelly is on the sweeter side so take that into mind when ordering. Another favorite is the matcha toffee. Such a unique spin on a classic matcha. Super tasty and it will not disappoint. Urban ritual puts little crunchy bits of barley or toffee into the drinks which provides a great texture BUT it means you have to drink your drink kinda fast. I'm a sipper and usually enjoy my drinks over a couple of hours and the crunchy bits because soggy and unappetizing so my PRO TIP is to ask for the crunchy bits on the side if you are a slow drinker or you are going to save your drink for later!! We also got their chocolate croissant with the pineapple bun crispy top and it HIT. They warmed it up for us when we ordered it and it was crispy and flakey. Would definitely order again. This specific location is in San Pedro market so there's a lot of shared seating with the other stalls. Parking can be painful but there is a nearby parking garage that offers 90 minutes free parking and street parking is free on sundays and after 6pm everyday. I love urban ritual and think it's one of the best boba shops in the bay. So if you haven't tried it yet and love boba... what are you doing!! Go give it a shot next time you're feeling a milk tea.

Stumbled upon this place while walking around and I was captivated by the little pouches they had. Tried a calamansi and a crème brûlée milk tea. They both packed a punch in flavors! I lucked out and got a buy one get one free so I ran it back and got two more to try. This place has some intense flavors and I am not mad at the size for it being small sometimes the larger traditional cups are too much ice anyways. So these were great!

Came back here to as I was in the San Pedro's square area. Tried their seasonal item with strawberry, corn milk and pandan - looks like matcha but very different in taste. The pandan flavor is light and more strawberry emphasis. The crème brûlée with pudding and milk tea was tasty. Service was Ok, you order from a kiosk and they make the tea in the back, so really no interaction in this setting. Overall a solid boba spot if you're around the area, although pricier than most ($7 average).

Urban Ritual is located in a market style building filled with other food vendors so if you're in the mood for food with tea or coffee, this is the best place to be! They do have self-order tablets at the front with photos of all the items so ordering is easy. It was my first time here so I went with the Raspberry Calamansi and Milk Tea boba pouch. These pouch drinks are priced fairly reasonable at just $4 each! These specific drinks are available ready to go so I got them within seconds of placing my order. The drinks were delicious and just what I needed! There are also a variety of tv's so if you're there while there's a game on then there's a chance you can watch it while you eat your food. There is also a ton of seating so you will always have a place to sit, depending on what time you go.

I've frequented the Urban Ritual in San Mateo location often, but have only gone to the one in San Jose a few times. Located in San Pedro Square, parking can be a hit or a miss depending on the time of day you arrive. There's street parking all along the block and across the street and a parking lot a couple blocks away. Once you're inside, you can use their iPad to order and then just wait. I don't have a go to order for Urban Ritual, but their matcha toffee is pretty good as is their black sesame if you're into some nutty flavor. My mom enjoys their black sesame drink and always opts for that when she can. Overall, no complaints.

Urban Ritual is a bit of a different type of boba place. How do I explain it, they do one-offs very well. Everyone is drawn in by the Feed Me Ube!, which is in my personal opinion one of their best offerings. Over time, I've tried their Hong Kong Milk Tea and Mango Sticky Rice, both at other locations. More recently my go-to at this location has been the Black Sesame Rice Ball. As a lactose intolerant individual, I'm a big fan of their default use of rice milk. It does give the drinks a bit of a different, lighter flavor than what you would usually expect when visiting a boba shop, but it's pleasant. I usually don't get any additional toppings like the boba balls when the Black Sesame Rice Ball comes with drinkable mochi, so I wouldn't be able to speak on the quality of their toppings. I would recommend their one-offs like the Feed Me Ube! and Black Sesame Rice Ball, but I personally wouldn't be stopping by if I was looking for a more barebones, traditional boba experience.

I typically skip on leaving boba reviews because everywhere is pretty similar, but I was genuinely impressed by the offerings of this boba shop! The flavors are incredibly unique, and both drinks were so good that I want to come back asap. The store is located in a food court type of set up, so there are many lunch spots next door. you order on a kiosk, and the drinks come out pretty quick (5-10 min).

A great boba spot in San Pedro Square that really rounded out the drink choices. They truly have unique drinks on their menu and like how you are able to self-order at the kiosk. The "feed me ube!" Drink stood out to me and ordered that along with honey boba. This drink was tasty! There was ube pudding on the sides and was altogether refreshing. I believe I paid $8.75 which I have found is the average price these days. Quick service paired with good drinks is a winner.

Confidently recommend trying Urban Ritual. They make really consistent, high-quality drinks. They tend to be on the sweet side, so I like to opt for 50% sweet or lower. Boba pearls are a great consistency. I liked their matcha and crème brûlée milk tea, but I would opt out of the torched sugar. The hard texture isn't my preference. Ordering on the kiosk is very easy, and there's always plenty of seating inside San Pedro.
